I believe I have mentioned here before that Tia and her husband Simon Wakelin were working on a new project, a movie about Rell Sunn, a hawaiian surfer also known as "The Queen of Makaha" that had an amazing life story. She died of breast cancer.
Tia and Simon have been working on it for years, they made lots of researches, they wrote the screenplay, and now it's official, Tia's going to star and produce the film, and Martha Coolidge is going to direct it. It's called "Wave Dancer".

"I believe that Rell Sunn is the kind of hero that we need to see in film today", Tia said.
"Here's a woman who was not a wealthy woman, she was a single mother, she was sick, struck with breast cancer, yet she lived a far greater life than 99 percent of us."

Tia probably hurt her right foot because she had a splint on it.
